BHUBANESWAR: A group of 45 students from Rajasthan will visit Odisha as a part of the Yuva Sangam (phase-II) initiative of the Centre. IIT Bhubaneswar, the nodal institute of Odisha, will welcome them after their arrival at Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
Yuva Sangam under ‘Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat’ programme of the Centre is a collaborative effort of various ministries to strengthen people-to-people connect and build empathy among youth across the country. Now the second phase of this initiative is underway after completion of Yuva Sangam (phase-I) a month ago.
The Rajasthani students with faculty members from MNIT Jaipur will visit IIT Bhubaneswar campus on Tuesday. A welcome ceremony has been arranged by the national institute in the evening. On the very next day, they will visit Puri, Konark, Chandrabhaga, artisans’ village Raghurajpur (a UNESCO world heritage village) and see the Gotipua dance at the village.
On May 18, the delegates will visit Dhauli, Khandagiri, tribal museum and other historical places in Bhubaneswar. “In the evening, they will interact with Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan at Jayadev Bhawan here. Odisha governor Ganeshi Lal will also attend the event. Pradhan has hosted dinner for them in Vivanta here,” said an official of IIT Bhubaneswar.
On May 19, they will go for a technical visit to ICMR-Regional Medical Research Centre (RMRC), Central Tool Room and Training Centre (CTTC), Bhubaneswar and other technical institutes apart from IT companies like Infosys and TCS. They can do marketing at Ekamra Haat in the city.
On May 20, they will visit Ravenshaw University Cuttack, the maritime museum at Cuttack and Paradip port and refinery at Paradip. On May 21, they will take part in plantation drive inside IIT Bhubaneswar campus before visiting Skill Development Institute (SDI). They will go to local villages adopted by IIT Bhubaneswar. In the evening, there will be a closing ceremony with a cultural event.
The group will return to Rajasthan by Rajdhani Express on May 22 morning.
Earlier, a delegation of 45 students from different higher education institutions of Odisha including IIT Bhubaneswar have gone to Rajasthan as a part of the government’s ‘Yuva Sangam-II’ programme. They reached Jaipur on May 11 and their trip will conclude on May 18.
